EXPLORATORY RESEARCH

It is a type of research that uses a less structured data collection routine, in order to turn possible the emersion of important variables for the comprehension of scenarios, situations and problems. The qualitative methodology is commonly used in studies that need to expand the opening angle for the understanding of the object of study. It includes the analysis of secondary data (data mining) and some studies on quantitative methodology such as, the ones known as pilot studies.

CONCLUSIVE RESEARCH

Conclusive researches tend to be more structured and are frequently using the quantitative methodology. They also aim to study the relationship between established variables or test previously formulated hypothesis. Are part of this category, the surveys, censes and the panel as well as experiments and pilot experiments such as blind experiment and price elasticity testing.

This type of research may be cross-sectional or longitudinal. In cross-sectional researches, data collection of a certain sample is made only once at a single time frame on the other hand, for the longitudinal type of research, sampling is held several times over time. It is a type of study that involves a fixed population sample which is measured repeatedly.

METHODOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES

The choice of a methodology shows us ways and determines procedures to hold an applied research. In doing so, the is not one technique better than the other and yet, the most appropriate technique to understand a specific problem.

QUANTITATIVE METHODOLOGY

This methodology is recommended whenever it is necessary to make a high certainty level decision. It is a structured method   that uses representative samples of an specific universe or even its totality.

QUALITATIVE METHODOLOGY

Totally based on the existence of a collective intersubjectivity, this methodology does not allow any measuring however, it provides us valuable insights related to the research problem.
